Premises Liability

Slip and fall and trip and fall accidents occur when a property owner fails to maintain reasonably safe conditions for visitors. These accidents can happen in grocery stores, restaurants, apartment complexes, office buildings, retail stores, hotels, parking lots, and other public or private properties. Common hazards include wet floors, uneven pavement, loose carpeting, poor lighting, unmarked spills, cracked sidewalks, and debris left in walkways. Property owners have a duty to inspect their premises, address dangerous conditions, and warn visitors of known hazards. When they fail to do so, serious injuries such as broken bones, back injuries, head trauma, and soft tissue injuries can occur. Victims may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages resulting from the accident.
